Femme & Furious is a feminist pop culture podcast for women and LGBTQIA+ folks who love their media deeply.
This show is for the girls, gays, and theys who devour BookTok romances, spiral over every fictional men (and women), frantically text the group chat theories about their favorite TV shows, and still show up for blockbuster franchises, all while very much side-eyeing the gender politics.
At Femme & Furious, we take the stories you’re already obsessed with from TV shows, books, and big-screen favorites, and pull them apart (lovingly). We’re talking tropes, character arcs, cultural impact, and all the subtle (and not-so-subtle) ways gender shows up on the page and on screen.
We ask the questions that linger long after the credits roll:
Why are emotionally unavailable men still being rewarded?
How many women have to get fridged before we retire the trope?
Why are stories centered on women and queer audiences treated like “guilty pleasures”?
And why do female characters have to earn complexity while men are just… handed it?
Also, this is important: we'll discuss why certain fictional men have us foaming at the mouth. This is a judgment-free zone.
